Acrylic on canvas, 16″ x 20″, 2017. Inspired by the tales of Es-Sindibad of the Sea, known to the Western world as Sinbad. The merchant’s attire tells of his travels: the Tang jacket hails from China, and the blue headscarf suggests the Berbers of North Africa.
