I will be very interested to see where the seagull-spoon story leads. It could have a variety of paths / entanglements beyond the little that we saw / experienced / knew of when it happened however many years ago. Sounds like a fun adventure! I wonder, do seagulls build any sort of nests like many other birds. If so, how might a seagull use a plastic spoon in that process?

I also found a Mr. Clean multi-purpose cleaner around the house that took off the mildew more quickly than the rubbing alcohol. It was Multisurfaces “Summer Citrus.”
Love this joyful expression. years ago I saw a cartoon of a airplane and his airplane wife. she was knitting a little airplane and they were so happy. Later the baby arrived and it was a JET! they were so appalled. the little jet loved his parents and later on saves his dad in a situation.

hello there! One graduated upper school and is studying animation getting a 18 ms certification here in LA. She is loving it. The other is a SR this year and will graduate in May. I have such perfect memories in your home, your art on the walls, wriggling doggie and cat on stairs, generosity of your family, the snowfall at 3am and my running outside to video it under the lamplight. I am fostering a Chinese girl for 3 years to a local high school and having so much fun. I have a USC retired watercolor teacher on Fridays. I have flowers in the garden attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, two parakeets trying to hatch babies maybe next Sunday to start. So much gratitude and good. I am not sure it would be very comfortable on the surface under sail in a great ship especially with winter storms whirling around and really rocking the boat.
Beautiful and inspiring. I was on the Big Island from Sept 20th to the 27th. My only time that I have visited it.
I was amazed at how large the volcano was. I just learned last evening that all the flowers that look like orchids on the grounds around the volcano were brought in by the Chinese many years ago and are called “Bamboo Orchids.”

Your parents have been hosting Rackham for the last couple of years which is how we got to know them. My question is what are the BEST pencils to purchase for a beginner like me. I think MIchael’s has a good selection, but I’m never sure what to buy. Many thanks for your help.
Hi, Joanne. Are you thinking of graphite pencils (regular/grays), colored pencils, or both? For colored pencils, I highly recommend Prismacolor. I’ve used them for years. (There is also a colorless burnishing pencil you can buy for blending/smoothing. It has a whitish lead.) For graphite/lead pencils, a small set of different weights is good to start with: something that has 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B, and maybe a 2H. (B weights are softer lead/graphite, so they are darker as the numbers increase. H weights get harder & lighter.) I’m not too picky about the brands for these, but I have been using Staedtler Mars & Koh-i-noor sets for a while.

Your re-organization project looks like more fun than mine has been, also still in progress. Fall cleanup, including getting rid of some things no longer needed or useful. Move easily moveable furniture and other large items to clean, vacuum and freshen up carpeted rooms with a water-essential oil spray.
Clean / mop vinyl floors, after moving out everything moveable except the range and refrigerator.
Original Pine Sol does a great job. It even acts as a decongestant though probably not an intended use.
I wish you well with sorting and digitizing your older artwork!

We must all have some inspiration for order these days. I have donated four carloads, trunk, back seat and passenger seat loaded with goodies to donation centers in the last few months. What a good feeling to have the storage area, closets and garage looking so much better, and hoping someone else may find something useful. I created the Pinterest account maybe 10 years ago as a “bread upon the waters,” hands-off attempt at spreading awareness of my art, letting people do the sharing via pins. I don’t refer people to it since I have never actively used it. At the least, it might have helped a woman find me once to let me know someone else had unlawfully used one of my Pandagrams in a design in an online shop.
I deleted my Artfinder account a few years ago & removed it from my contact page. Glad you mentioned it since I hadn’t thought to search for links in old posts. I put a note about the deletion in the post where you found the link.

Thank you for sharing the description of the planning process. It shows how much is involved to prepare for a bazaar or fair. I have much more appreciation for the folks whose booths we walked through in G-bury and elsewhere for art and craft shows over the years.

I think if I stick to papers only, it will do well. Small canvas board or hardboard paintings might knock the panels. Happy cleaning on your end.

I created the Pinterest account maybe 10 years ago as a “bread upon the waters,” hands-off attempt at spreading awareness of my art, letting people do the sharing via pins. I don’t refer people to it since I have never actively used it. At the least, it might have helped a woman find me once to let me know someone else had unlawfully used one of my Pandagrams in a design in an online shop.
I deleted my Artfinder account a few years ago & removed it from my contact page. Glad you mentioned it since I hadn’t thought to search for links in old posts. I put a note about the deletion in the post where you found the link.

Thank you for sharing the description of the planning process. It shows how much is involved to prepare for a bazaar or fair. I have much more appreciation for the folks whose booths we walked through in G-bury and elsewhere for art and craft shows over the years.
Congratulations on your sales, too. That is very nice after all the work to plan your booth for the bazaar along with the work to create all the items you display.
